Archery is popular today in the U.S.  Why is archery so popular now?  Why they want to play archery?   Because of  The Hunger Games is a popular movie now, many people saw the movie or read the book, including young people.   Many young girls want to play it because of Katniss.  The Hunger Games  is talk about Katniss and she can archery, the most important point is Katniss she is a girl, many girl read the book think they will become Katniss too.  Girls will ask their father to buy a bow and arrow. They will like to do archery with their father.  Fathers will like teach it to girls.  It could be a good father-daughter activity.  That’s the reason for archery is  so popular  today.

The Hunger Games tour Information

The movie The Hunger Games not only has the good box office, it also has the economic effects development on tourism.  There are many kinds of The Hunger Games fan tours in North Carolina now and I think it will be popular, too. Now I will talk about it.  These tours are mostly for young people, so there will be a lot of young people participate in this summer vacation.  Also there have the day trip and the weekend trip you can join.

The day trip’s cost is $79 each person. If you want travel deep into DuPont State Forest and if you want see all the filming locations used in the movie, you should choose this trip.  The dates you can choice is May 26, May 27, July 14, July 15, Aug. 11, Aug. 12 . And you can join the weekend trip, you will spent three days and two nights times, you can stay at Earthshine Mountain Lodge, you can learn all The Hunger Games skills that they talked about in movie.  It just cost $389 each person.  This weekend trip is good for one family to go.  You can choose anytime during the day from April 27 – 29, June 8 – 10, June 22 – 24, July 27 – 29, August 24-26, and September 21 – 23.  It will be a good trip in the summer, please enjoy the time with your family.

My opinion of The Hunger Games

    The Hunger Games is an interesting movie, I like this movie and want to read all of the books.  But I really don’t want to live in Panem,  I think this country's system is very hateful and ridiculous, completely human freedom is trampled underfoot. Katniss comes back by virtue of her own courage, wisdom and experience of the hunting, but other tributes could not escape the fate of death, this country is not destined to last long.  After watch the movie, if I faced to kill others in order to maintain my own life situations, how can I do?  Maybe I will choose to be Foxface, and not hurt others, waiting for other people to kill each other, but the end is I have to wait until death. Needless to say, if you do not take action, the final will be passively killed.

    My most curious point is what will happen when Katniss goes back to the District12. The Captiol really be able to let she go, did not bother her?  Katniss and her mother and sister will have a stable life?  How about Gale and Peeta?  Maybe The Hunger Games book 2 & 3 will give me the answer, I'll see.

Spring Break

Mar24-Apr1 was our spring break. In my spring break, I just stayed on campus, but I was not lonely.  My friends were on campus too. During the break, there was no Goudy or any other place in campus we could eat food.  We had to find food by ourselves. We always went to Safeway and   McDonald's. In Safeway we could bought some drink or bread, and back to our hall, we could cook in the kitchen. In McDonald's, I just ordered a cup of coffee, but the big size is surprised me, so we took the photo of it, but I didn't finished it because it was too big.

On Mar26, was my friend’s birthday. I and others want to give her a surprise, we bought a birthday cake and planed a birthday party for her. We cooked in kitchen together and ate some Japanese cakes, it was a familiar taste. My friend she was like it so much. After the party, we watched the movie ALIEN in Doney’s lounge. I did not like it. That was horrible for me, I do not like to watch horror movies, even I knew ALIEN is not horror movies, it is still made me feel bad. But my friends they were liked it.

POW WOW

On March 10, there has an event at Willamette.  It was POW WOW, the Native American people’s way of meeting to join in dancing, singing. Each counrty has its own history and culture, also the United States.  It’s a good way for Native Americans and us to commemorate their culture and make some new friends.  At the POW WOW, I see many people wearing traditional clothing of Native Americans, their clothing are very nice.  This was my first time see the real Native American. They have a lot kind of dances. When a new dance will get start, the announcer will report.  Their band will begin the music and singing.  After dance, I go to the small market, there are many hand-made crafts, including clothing, T-shirts, shoes, and accessories. I did not buy anything, even some of them are very beautiful, but for me is does not really needed. But I also love POW WOW.  The event is fantasitic, because it can let me know more of the Native American’s culture!!
